Sim Yee (Cindy) Tan
Cindy Tan graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Food science and Nutrition) in 1999 and completed her Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Sydney in 2003. She has been working in Concord Hospital since 2004 and has a particular interest in the nutritional status in cancer patients and their response to cancer treatments. Cindy received her PhD from The University of Sydney in 2013 and her doctoral research examined the relationship between nutritional status and clinical outcomes in cancer patients commencing chemotherapy. Cindy is currently working at the Concord Cancer Centre/Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre, Concord Hospital, Sydney as a senior clinical dietitian (0.4FTE), as well as a senior research fellow at the Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship (ARCCS), UNSW Sydney (0.6FTE). Her work is centred on cancer survivorship, with a particular focus on promoting healthy eating as part of a lifestyle intervention to help cancer survivors maintain their health and wellbeing.
