Sim Yee (Cindy) Tan

Cindy Tan graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Food science and Nutrition) in 1999 and completed her Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Sydney in 2003. She has been working in medical oncology since 2004 and has a particular interest in the nutritional status in cancer patients and their response to cancer treatments. Cindy was awarded PhD from The University of Sydney in 2013 and the title of her thesis is ‘Nutritional status and clinical outcomes in ambulatory cancer patients commencing chemotherapy.’ Cindy is currently working at Concord Cancer Centre/Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre, Concord Hospital. Her most recent work is centred on cancer survivorship, where one of the main focuses is to promote healthy eating as part of a lifestyle intervention to help cancer survivors stay healthy and fit.
